Many forex advisors and indicators have such a parameter as GMT offset or : Greenwich Mean Time Deviation. The trading expert is interested in how the time in the terminal differs from the GMT time. Many people make the mistake of thinking that this parameter depends on where they live.

GMT Offset does not depend on whether you live in Colombia or Zimbabwe. We are only interested in the time on the trade server and GMT time.

Instructions for determining the deviation:
1. We look at the clock in Metatrader (top left in the “Market Watch” window)

  1. We go to the site: https://time100.ru/GMT
  1. Compare GMT time with the time in Metatrader

How many hours the time in the terminal is longer than Greenwich Mean Time, this will be our desired parameter.

Example:
The time in the terminal is 13.00 and the time is GMT = 11.00
Hence GMT offset (shift) = 2

As you can see, it is very easy to determine GMT Offset.

Thanks for attention.
